About Us

Inchelium School District is located on the Colville Reservation in Northeastern Washington, 90 miles north of Spokane, WA.

Inchelium was relocated from an earlier site in the early 1940's. Old Inchelium had been located on the banks of the Columbia River before the construction of the Grand Coulee Dam. As the waters rose behind the dam, the town had to be relocated. There are still buildings that exist that were relocated from the old town. When the water level drops low enough you are able to see the old church foundation and even old tree stumps that are still hanging in there.

As of the most recent census in 2010 there are 409 people residing in Inchelium. About eight miles west of Inchelium there are two resorts, Rainbow Beach Resort and Log Cabin Resort, located on Twin Lakes. Being a small and tight-knit community is a huge bonus as the community comes together for support through good times and bad. The beautiful scenery speaks for itself, and some lovingly refer to it as "God's Country." Inchelium School District has a K-12 School. Currently, 213 students are enrolled. The staff consists of 20 certificated employees, 20 classified employees, and 2 administrators. Sports and other extracurricular activities are valued, and bring the school and community together to support the kids.
